Men Of Wisdom Shall Come
Excerpt from Chapter 1 of The Day Of The Lord Is At Hand
This is the hour which has been appointed for the books to be unsealed, and for
the men of wisdom to raise their voices in the wilderness declaring to the whole
world: Make straight the way of the LORD, for the Day of the LORD is at hand!
When the prophecy teachers speak about the end times, they all miss one sign -
those with insight will come and give understanding to the many. These chosen
ones have been prepared by GOD himself. Until now they have been hidden away,
like David and his mighty men in the cave at Adullum.
“And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the
shadow of his hand hath he hid me.” - Isaiah 49:2-4
These messengers have been prepared like Joseph, waiting in prison until the day
of his showing unto Israel. The life of Joseph was filled with suffering and
sorrow until the appointed time for His rising among the people. Joseph first
had to be purged with fire before the LORD would use him. Rejection and
repudiation, hatred and jealousy, false accusation and abandonment were all used
by the LORD to purify Joseph for the hour of his ministry to the people.
The men of wisdom, whom the LORD is now raising up, have walked the same path.
This must be, for whenever GOD chooses to use a man, He first must empty him.
The fires endured by these broken ones have been intense. The Lord has prepared
them “by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.” Out of these
flames, the LORD has forged a people for Himself with a faith made of steel. In
their mouths, He has placed a sharpened swift sword. They shall teach the people
the truth, and shall cast down all the altars of baal!
"And they that understand among the people shall
instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity,
and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a
little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. And some of them
of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white,
even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed." -
Daniel 11:33-35
Why haven’t the prophecy teachers told us to look for the men of wisdom? And
where would you expect them to be found? These anointed messengers of the LORD
will be found in the wilderness, even as John the Baptist came before the first
coming of the LORD.
HERE IS THE MIND WHICH HAS WISDOM
What signs do we have that we can use to identify the men of wisdom, who have
the true understanding of the end time prophecies? How will we discern their
voice and message from all the other voices, which will be speaking at the time
of the end?
It has been the practice of kings to test their wise men with riddles, for this
was the proof that they were indeed men of wisdom. Our LORD uses the same test,
providing riddles in Scripture as prophetic mysteries, by which we may know and
discern that those who can answer the riddle truthfully have the mind of wisdom.
This wisdom is not of human knowledge, or higher learning, though the men of
understanding whom GOD calls may possess both. The mind of wisdom spoken of in
the Scripture is one to whom the secret mysteries of GOD have been revealed by
the Spirit. These mysteries are not discovered, nor are they reasoned with the
mind of man, but they are revealed by GOD to whom ever he chooses to reveal
them. As Daniel exclaims, “Blessed be the name of GOD for ever and ever; for
wisdom and might are his, and he changes the times and the seasons, he removes
kings, and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise, he reveals the secret
things, for he alone knows what is in the darkness.”
Scripture gives us three specific tests we can use to identify the men of
understanding who have the mind of wisdom. First, everything they speak and
teach must confirm and be consistent with both the whole counsel of GOD, which
is His Word, the Bible, and the testimony of the prophets.
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not
according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” - Isaiah
8:10
Second, they are able to count the number of the beast, and identify the
anti-Christ before he is revealed to the world.
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast
rise up out of the sea, the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his
feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the
dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. Here is wisdom.
Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the
number of a man and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.”
- Revelation 13:1-12
Third, the men of wisdom are also able to solve the riddle of the woman Mystery
Babylon and the beast on which she rides as spoken in Revelation 17.
“I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full
of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was
arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones
and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and
filthiness of her fornication. And upon her forehead was a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE
EARTH, here is the mind which has wisdom.”
