Crying In The Chapel |
1. You saw me crying in the
chapel. The tears I shed were tears of joy.
I know the meaning of contentment. Now I am happy with the Lord.
2. Just a plain and simple
chapel where humble people go to pray.
I pray the Lord that I'll grow stronger as I live from day to day.
3. I've searched and I've
searched but I couldn't find
no way on earth to gain peace of mind.
4. Now I'm happy in the
chapel where people are of one accord.
We gather in the chapel just to sing and praise the Lord.
5. Ev'ry sinner looks for
something that will put his heart at ease.
There is only one true answer, he must get down on his knees.
6. Meet your neighbor in
the chapel, join with him in tears of joy.
You'll know the meaning of contentment, then you'll be happy with the Lord.
7. You'll search and you'll
search but you'll never find
no way on earth to gain peace of mind.
8. Take your troubles to
the chapel. Get down on your knees and pray.
Your burdens will be lighter and you'll surely find the way.
Words & Music: Artie Glenn, 1953
He Is My Everything |
I long to be His possession. Oh, He is my everything.
1. I remember my days of
darkness without sunshine or sight to lead the way.
But a whisper of His voice softly calling to the arms of my Maker to stay.
Refrain:
He is my reason for living. Oh He is the King of all kings.
I long to be His possession. Oh, He is my everything.
2. After the lighting and thunder, after the last bell has rung,
I want to bow down before Him and hear Him say well done.
Words & Music: Elvis Presley (1935-1977)
In My Father's House |
1. In my father's house are
many mansions.
If it were not true he would have told me so.
He has gone away to live in that bright city.
He's preparing me a mansion there I know.
2. Jesus died upon the cross to bear my sorrow.
Freely died that souls like you might have new life.
But I know that soon there'll come a bright tomorrow.
When the world will all be free from sin and strife.
Do not shun the saviors
love, from up in glory.
Or you won't be there to sing the gospel story.
In my father's house are many mansions.
If you're true then to this land you'll surely go.
Bible passage: John 14:2
Words & Music: Elvis Presley (1935-1977)
In The Garden |
1. I come to the garden
alone while the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses.
Refrain:
And He walks with me, and He talks with me, and He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever known.
2. He speaks, and the sound
of His voice, is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me within my heart is ringing.
3. I’d stay in the garden
with Him though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling.
Bible passage: John
20:15
Words & Music: C. Austin Miles, March 1912
Just A Closer Walk With Thee |
1. I am weak, but
Thou art strong; |
1. I am weak, but
Thou art strong |
Refrain:
Just a closer walk with Thee, grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee, let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
2. Through this world
of toil and snares, |
2. Through this world
of toil and snares, |
3. When my feeble
life is o’er, |
3. When my weary life
is o'er |
Bible passage: 2 Corinthians 13:4
Words: Unknown author
Music: Traditional folk song, "Closer Walk"
Peace In The Valley |
1. Well, I'm tired and so
weary but I must go along
Till the Lord comes and calls me away, oh yes
Where the morning's so bright and the Lamb is the light
And the night is as bright as the day, oh yes
Refrain:
There will be peace in the valley for me some day
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord, I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow, no trouble I see
There will be peace in the valley for me!
2. There the flowers will
be blooming and the grass will be green
And the skies will be clear and serene, oh yes
The sun ever beams in this valley of dreams
And no cloud will ever be seen, oh yes!
3. Well the bear will be
gentle and the wolves will be tame
And the lion shall lay down by the lamb, oh yes
And the beasts from the wild shall be led by a child
And I'll be changed from this creature that I am, oh yes!
Words & Music: Thomas Andrew Dorsey (1899-1993)
